4 Tips for a perfect back to school

We know that going back to school can be stressful, but here are 5 essential tips to make going back to school as easy as possible.

1. Prepare everything in advance, from uniforms to backpacks

Planning everything you need for back-to-school in advance is the key strategy to make all the pre-school stress disappear. We recommend that a few weeks before school starts, you check that uniforms are complete and backpacks are in order. This will allow you to keep the situation under control and be prepared for small unforeseen events, such as an item of clothing being too small or the backpack's zip being broken.

2. Establish sleep routines a week in advance:

For children, the time change can be a challenge. To make waking up early a breeze, we recommend that you start adjusting sleep routines to the school schedule a week before school starts. You can start every night by putting them to bed and waking them up earlier and earlier, as this will help their bodies adapt to the change, ensuring that they arrive with energy and vitality to face the first days of school.

3. Organise a calendar of homework and activities:

To facilitate organisation, both for parents and children, the idea of having a visible calendar at home with all the homework and activities scheduled can be very good. In this calendar you can include extracurricular activities, class schedules and assigned homework and study times.

In addition, if you create the calendar together, it will make it easier for children to understand the importance of their responsibilities.

4. Buy quality school supplies:

Choosing quality school supplies can make all the difference when it comes to back to school. Choosing the right school material for your child will allow it to last much longer, as well as improving your children's performance. However, at La Torre Outlet you can find cheap school supplies from top brands, so you can save on your purchase and make sure they will last much longer. Our recommendation is to buy ergonomic backpacks, quality pens and pencils and the basics of school supplies: paints, markers, rulers, scissors... We recommend you visit our Marketches shop, where you can find all the school supplies you need, at the best price!

Our tips for an easy back to school

Back to school is just around the corner. To make the back-to-school period as bearable as possible, here are some tips:

The essentials of school supplies

It is good to involve children in the preparations for going back to school. One way for them to get in touch with the new stage they are about to start is to go shopping with them for the new school material they are going to need, choose the backpack they like the most, cover the new books, look at the uniforms, etc.

In our Marketches shop you can find all the essential school supplies at the best price. Also, if your children are an earthquake and tend to tear their trousers, in this shop you can find knee pads and patches to give a second life to their trousers.

Comfortable and durable children's clothing

If your child wears a uniform, the school will usually provide a list of the necessary items. Whether this is the case or not, here is a list of tips that can be very useful:

  1. Opt for cotton as a basic fabric in children's clothing, as it is soft and cool. At the Mayoral shop in La Torre Outlet, you can find a variety of cotton garments to dress your children.
  2. Opt for looser-fitting garments that children will feel comfortable in.
  3. Give a place in the wardrobe to colourful and fun clothes. In our Benetton shop, you can find lots of children's clothes. Fun, colourful, comfortable and resistant clothes so that your children can play and have fun and you don't have to worry about the resistance of their clothes.
  4. If you have a young child who is learning to change themselves, we recommend buying clothes that are easy to put on, such as trousers with elastic without too many zips or buttons.
  5. Mark the clothes. We believe it is a must to mark children's names on their clothes as they are more prone to forgetting and losing things. At La Torre Outlet, you can personalise the clothes you buy so that this is not a problem. You can also add patches, embroidery, studs or pins to make your garment unique. Give your broken or half-worn school supplies a new lease of life

The main advice would be to continue using the useful school supplies you have at home or to donate them, as there is no better alternative than not generating new waste. However, the problem is the following: we often accumulate at home a lot of products that have finished their useful life or have broken, so they become useless waste.

In these cases it is inevitable to throw the material away or to find a new life for it, for example, by letting our creativity flow with handicrafts. Once we have the material we are going to use, we will make a list of the materials we need. In case we are missing colours, instead of buying a new box, you can buy the pencils of the colours you are missing loose.

Everything is ready for extracurricular activities

As at the beginning of each school year, the choice of extracurricular activities raises many doubts for parents, as they are the ones who have to choose from a wide variety and organise it taking into account family schedules.

Thanks to extracurricular activities, children can complement school activities, learn social skills outside of school, encourage creativity, motivate effort and teamwork, and share activities with the family.

Whether you opt for extracurricular sports, computer, artistic or cultural activities, at La Torre Outlet we have a wide variety of shops where you can buy sports equipment, computer and artistic material and much more! We are sure that in our shopping centre you will be able to find everything you need for extracurricular activities at the best price!

Healthy and fun lunches

When preparing meals for our children, our main goal is to achieve a proper balance in their diet. Some practical tips would be to encourage variety, control portions, avoid processed foods and involve children in preparing their own lunches so that they are more willing to try healthy foods.

Here are some ideas for easy and healthy lunches that children can take to school:

  1. Turkey and avocado sandwich: You can use whole wheat bread and fill it with turkey and avocado, as this provides carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats and fibre.
  2. Whole wheat mini pizzas: Prepare mini pizzas using a whole wheat base, tomato sauce, cheese and vegetables such as peppers. You can find a more detailed recipe on our airfryer recipe blog.
  3. Vegetable strips with hummus: Slice up your favourite veggies and dip them in hummus. This is a great source of fibre and vegetable protein.
  4. Fruit and veggie smoothies: Make a smoothie with their favourite fruits. You can make a smoothie by blending, for example, spinach, banana, strawberry and milk or yoghurt.
  5. Oatmeal and chocolate muffins: Just because it's healthy doesn't mean we have to give up chocolate. You can make these healthy muffins by mixing 5 tablespoons of oat flakes, 1 plain yoghurt, 1 egg, a few chocolate chips and a little honey. Bake for 20 minutes at 180º and you will have delicious unprocessed muffins.
